With these features in mind, let’s discuss our testing.

Testing the Confidence Pro Bike Adjustable Repair Stand

If you are looking to buy a bike repair stand, there are a few things you need to consider and these are exactly the things we looked at while testing the Confidence Pro Repair Stand. First you have to look at the stability of the stand, which can sometimes be an issue, especially with folding stands. Next, you’ve got to make sure the clamps can not only adjust to your bike, but also that they will securely hold your bike without damaging it or slipping while you work. The sturdiest stand won’t do you much good, if it can hold your bike. Also, it’s a good idea to find a stand that is adjustable and can accommodate whatever bike or bikes you may be working on. You’ll want to make sure that it can position your bike the way you need it to for the job you are doing. Finally, if you are looking at a portable stand, you want to make sure it folds down easily for travel and/or storage and that it also sets up easy so you’re not wasting valuable time.

Our Findings

To find out whether or not the Confidence Pro Adjustable Repair Stand would be a great buy, we had our test team put it through the paces. Our team mounted several different types of bikes on the stand including a couple of heavier mountain bikes and attempted some routine maintenance. Our testers found this stand to be really solid and sturdy. It helps that the four legs can spread out wide and even on somewhat of an un-even cement floor and a mountain bike, the stand didn’t rock or wobble much. The quick-release clamp made it easy to mount the bikes, however at first our test team wasn’t so sure how the clamp would hold up. The plastic on the main clamp seemed to flex a little and our team was careful not to apply too much pressure. However, the clamp held up surprisingly well with different bikes and while performing different tasks during all of our testing. Could the clamp be better without plastic components? Absolutley, but for a stand at this price point, this clamp did the job and held up just fine. We also found that the telescoping arm and folding legs were more than adequate to help adjust the stand to a variety of bikes and positions for working. The stabilizer rod helped when needed and the magnetic tool tray came in handy for holding tools/parts nearby for easy access. When it was time to clean up, the repair stand was easy to fold up and didn’t take up a whole lot of room. Overall, for a cheap bike repair stand, the Confidence Pro is a sturdy stand that got the job done.

Rating: We’ve given the Confidence Pro Bike Adjustable Repair Stand a 4.7 star rating. Would be a 5 star product but for the plastic on the main clamp.
